You gotta be kidding me.
Who gets the flu in August...right before their last “A” race of the season? What are the odds of this scenario happening two years in a row? Un-freakin’-believable.
Last year I came down with the flu the day before the Park City Point to Point and was unable to race and I have been looking forward to a rematch ever since.
Then it happened again yesterday. After a pretty normal Sunday consisting of a short ride, some quality time in the man-cave working on bikes, and an excellent grilled chicken fajita dinner at home, things went very bad. I will spare you the details but very frequent trips to the bathroom were involved...all night. Sweet.
Random note: Carbo Rocket goes down pretty well when you have the flu and has tons of electrolytes.
TUESDAY MORNING UPDATE: Got a good night of sleep. Feeling better and the body aches are gone. Still no appetite though.

I hope you feel better, Dave... your body must be telling you something! Take care of yourself, and remember, there are lots of races out there, and you'll get your chance again!!
flu shot next year? bummer man =(
Oh, man!!! What a bummer. Maybe consider it a forced rest period before the race? Hope you feel better soon...
Looking forward to seeing you on the line! Get better. And if not, well just ride through it.
